Business Coaches typically specialise in different industries and niches. And it will be clear by reading their website or social channels who the coach works with and if they can help you. For example, I work mostly with service based businesses who are in the growth stage (messy middle).

If you are looking for freedom and flexibility, there would be no point in working with a Business Coach who has hustle and work harder ethos. You can get a strong sense of what the Coach stands for by reading their website copy, reading their social posts and watching behind the scenes content i.e. on Instagram Stories.
The Business Coach has the experience & expertise to help you overcome your current challenges and get you to where you want to be
You want your Business Coach to have the expertise to help you overcome your challenges. Do they have proven skills to help you reach your goals. Do they work with similar businesses to yours? Do they have social proof on their website and socials by way of testimonials? Do they have content that proves and showcases their knowledge (blog, podcast, video show)? Can they articulate HOW they get you results and what they do to support their current clients?
The Business Coach has a program that's going to work for you
Every Business Owner has different needs. Spend some time considering what sort of support you want / need to help you with your business and find a Business Coach that offers this type of program i.e. 1:1, group, once off, ongoing.
The Business Coach is in alignment with you (shared values)
This is a big one. If you’re not aligned with your Business Coach or they are not on the same wave length as you, you'll struggle to get the most out of the experience. All coaching relationships are founded by trust. Your Business Coach is the person you share all the nitty gritty of your business with. They are the person who will support you through your worst and cheer you through your best. And trust and connection is the essential foundation for this. In addition, knowing that your Business Coach shares similar values and is in alignment with how you want to operate your business, will see you get the most out of your investment.
