KNOW THE PROBLEM YOU SOLVE
You need to be crystal clear on this before you do anything else. Because without it, you will struggle to sell your service or product. Not only do you need to know the problem you’re trying to solve, but the emotional driver that's attached to the problem. In the video I break this down further into intrinsic and extrinsic motivators.
KNOW YOUR IDEAL CUSTOMER AVATAR (ICA)
This is the next step on from knowing the problem. You need to understand, who is your ideal customer? What are their likes and dislikes? Their deepest desires? How do they spend their time? Who's their idol? And so much more!
When you know who your ideal customer is, you will not only be able to create an offer that will solve their problems, you will speak directly to them in your copy. If you would like to create an ICA for your business, check out this post.
SET MEANINGFUL GOALS
Blurry vision will lead to vague goals... so, you need to start right at the top. Establish a rock solid north star (aka vision) first, and from there you need to establish meaningful goals.
Goal setting was done to death over the holiday period. But my question to you is did you actually do the work and set your goals (both short and long term)? If you did well done - move on to the next step. If not, it's time to slow down the pace and define what you expect to achieve this year.
SYSTEMS TO SCALE
Are non-income generating tasks keeping you busy in your business? Are you leaving money on the table because you don't have an appropriate system? These are important things to look at BEFORE you scale.
The truth is that if your systems are inadequate then you will miss prospects and it will affect the customer journey. Systems give you freedom. When you optimize your business, it's less for you to do (and think about). It frees up your time to focus on important things, like serving your clients and growing your business. .
PIVOTING IS NECESSARY
Now that you’ve nailed all of the above you need to be flexible in how you get there. The vision won't change but the tactics will, which means at times you’ll have to be ready to pivot. And the best way to pivot your business is to always be testing and iterating.
Pivot may have been a "buzz" word for 2020, but it's 100% necessary to your business growth. There's no express lane to success. By focusing on the right things, having patience and taking focused action you will grow.
