Stuck in busy work? 3 ways to simplify your business & create greater impact!
There are many reasons why we overcomplicate our work and create so much busy work in our business. Often we’re trying to validate our prices, have let it pile on over time or are just too busy to take a step back and analyse our workflow.
Wouldn’t it be wonderful if you created space to become more present for yourself and your loved ones? You can enjoy your business more when you have time to just focus on what matters and aren’t running around dealing with complicated systems and unnecessary tasks.
In this episode, I’m exploring 3 ways you can simplify your business to create a greater impact. I’m a big fan of uncomplicating problems and making everything as simple and streamlined as possible. I’m no different in my business and have designed it so I’m only working 25 hours per week.
By following these methods and action plans, you’ll have the scaffolding to structure your business in a way that creates space and time to focus on the aspects that matter the most.
This is the episode for you if you find yourself stuck in busy work and want to take back your time and energy.
Check it out!
Topics We Covered:
[1:24]: Have you ever wondered if you could simplify your business?
[2:52]: My desire to simplify and uncomplicate problems has burned long before my business.
[3:45]: When you have unnecessary complexities in your business, it robs you of your joy and outcomes. It’s about removing the busy work, with less on your plate there’s less on your mind.
[5:00]: By simplifying and creating space, you can redirect your focus back onto your clients.
[5:26]: #1 Your offers. Reading the book ‘The One Thing’ transformed my business in 2019. I stripped everything back to one service. I focused all of my efforts on nailing this one offer.
[6:52]: Listen to these prompts and take a hard look at your offers.
[7:34]: #2 Your processes. Listen to episode 4 to learn more about streamlining and systemising processes (click the link below).
[9:01]: Look at your standard operating procedures and sort into 4 categories: what would you retain, what can a team member help with, what can a tech solution streamline, and what would you remove entirely.
[10:08]: #3 Your marketing. You don’t need to be in all of the places all the time.
[11:15]: I made a shift in my marketing strategy to launch my podcast. I use this one big piece of content to push to Instagram, LinkedIn and my emailing list.
[13:24]: Decide where your ideal client is spending their time and build a relationship in that way that aligns with your strengths.
[13:37]: Because I stripped back my offering, I was only speaking to one ideal client. This made it so much easier when creating content.
[14:32]: Summary.
[14:52]: What could your business look like if you decluttered and simplified your business model?
[15:46]: Go back and listen to episode 12 - Why you need a plan in your business.
[16:07]: Listener shout out to Kylie from Sierra Rose Creative. Check out her Instagram here.
